An unusual occurrence took place about a year ago in our House of Prayer. It remained unnoticed . . . unsung . . . unseen . . . for months. Over the first row, dangling seemingly in insignificance, a humble rubber band was perched above where I typically sit, pray, and worship.
An elephant in any room are the broken relationships yet to be healed. They simmer beneath the surface, aching both the heart of God and ours as well. How different the planet would be if we, as Christ’s followers, would seek to repair every broken relationship in our lives.

Man playing God has always provided an infinitely brief sense of power, followed by the eternal realization that he thought far too highly of himself. Man humbling himself before an all-powerful, loving God provides the foundation for the abundant life that never ends.
Here’s a video by Joel Sandvos of our recent City-wide Prayer meeting. The lyrics are from an 18th century poem promoting revival. The song entitled “Great Awakening” is by the three-time GRAMMY-nominated band Leeland. It was inspired by stirring accounts of former revivals and the witness of “fathers of the faith,” including theologian Jonathan Edwards [...]
